Best job I've ever had. It allowed me to save money and pay for my full tuition! In almost 3 years I advised over 600 students combined with everything from life and mental health related challenges to school assignments. I planned and coordinated over 50 events with up to 200 attendants. Special Highlights: An Oscars Night, Oreo Day & Tax Workshop. Why these events? Because I heard "Shallow" for the first time, I bought over $300 in Oreos and I saved money in my taxes.I also helped my supervisors through a hiring process with over 30 applicants and 3 interview stages. Difficult but enriching job. I was in the door to door team, where we would visit a different neighbourhoods each day asking for people to become charity monthly members. The exciting part of the job, aside from helping worthy causes, was the uniqueness of every sale when the person would open their front door. Some people would send me my way and others would invite me for lunch! I learned different techniques of sales and canvassing in order to fundraise for important NGO such as Amnesty International, Doctors Without Borders, CARE, etc. Show less

Elected as President of the Student Government two months before the 2014 Venezuelan protests began. We led and organized over 1500 students during the course of the civil unrest, while carefully organizing student demonstrations and public assemblies. It was an exciting but risky role. I was only 18 years old, and we were dealing with the Venezuelan Government in its transition towards totalitarianism. Our school was well-known as it was the alma mater to many opposition political leaders, including Henrique Capriles, former Presidential Political Candidate. Thus, our statements and decisions were influential to many schools in the capital. Before the protests began, we organized dozens of events, all the way from super cool sports events and festivals to environmental and fundraising events. We also created student committees, where students had direct power over the decisions of the Students Government. Democracy at its best ;) Show less
