I had the pleasure of knowing and directly working with Winsten Whaley during his time at Paratus Diagnostics. One of the hardest working people at the company, we could always rely on Winsten to help find a solution to a technical problem or quickly fabricate a dimensionally accurate part. His dedication was top-notch and his attitude was always positive. I would recommend Winsten to any engineering company that values intelligent, effectual, hard-working employees with a very diverse skill-set.

      - PRODUCTION/OPERATIONS MANAGEMENT - Generate 3D Models from customer prints in Autodesk Inventor Professional, to be used with CAM softwares for programming. Use the 3D files to generate shop floor manufacturing aids, including inspection and in-process drawings. Program CNC lathes (Including Y-axis machines) and 3-Axis CNC milling centers. Create detailed work instructions in an ERP system (JobBoss), including process flow, workholding, tooling, and stock management considerations to reduce set-up times and increase job reliability. Document, investigate, and disposition non-conformances in a QM software (UniPoint), identifying the root cause of the issue to avoid future errors. Follow and assist in maintaining ISO AS9100 Certified quality management procedures. Design fixturing to aid with process accuracy, repeatability, and efficiency. Plan, initiate and delegate auxiliary tasks such as fixture manufacturing and 5S initiatives to assist operations. - PRODUCT DESIGN AND ENGINEERING - In an extremely limited time frame, coordinate with customer engineers in the mining, petroleum, structural, and manufacturing industries to determine functional requirements. Apply proven methods to the design of power technology, assemblies, sheet metal, and weldment components consistent with available in-house or approved vendor manufacturing capabilities. Using Inventor, generate drawings with all GD&T data as well as manufacturing notes, aids, and inspection criteria. Read and understand regulatory information from entities such as API, TexDOT and ANSI, parsing it within designs for rapid approval from certified sources to fast track manufacturing. Determine material and post processing requirements. Document all design data in Inventor Vault, allowing for collaboration and revision control. Show less
