My role as the Accountant involved working closely with the Portfolio Manager to account accurately for various portfolios. This included calculating the NAV, holdings per stock, realised and unrealised gains and losses. I compiled monthly, semi annual and annual consolidation of portfolios to show the performance to date, using charts to show the top performing stocks. On a daily basis, I monitored share prices and the trade orders placed by the manager and advised her throughout the day on the progress of individual stocks in the portfolio.I conducted research on various companies by analysing related news and their financial reports to produce key findings sand summaries on potential stocks to purchase. I also prepared monthly management accounts, accounting for investment income from bonds, equities, private equity, structured products and time deposits. The process involved bank reconciliations of nine bank accounts in multiple currencies.

My role included closing off month end procedures and compiling management accounts on a monthly basis. I solely managed the financials for 2 years and conducted reconciliations of bank accounts, balance sheets and large volume of accruals. I undertook variance analysis with the CEO and the Board of Directors to highlight significant variances and explain the reasoning behind them.I implemented the first ever Scottish Chambers of Commerce cash flow to help directors monitor cash levels and identify potential investment opportunities. I also worked closely with the Heads of departments to understand their activities and financial targets in order to create a master budget for the company. I led year end audits, heavily facilitated the audit process for 3 years consecutively and successfully led and managed the process for 2 years independently. The company received 2 clean audit reports under my supervision.
