Willie has been involved in a number of large arts, masterplanning and infrastructure projects, whilst also working across a range of general building types. Playing a lead role in the redevelopment of Dundee Station, the development of strategic architectural proposals for Abellio during their bid for the Scotrail franchise and most recently working with Scotrail in their further development of those proposals at Inverness, Aberdeen, Stirling and Motherwell Stations. Willie is the current Past President of the Royal Incorporation of Architects in Scotland has sat on the Construction Scotland Procurement Implementation Group and the Creative Industries Advisory Group.

  Willie took up the post as the RIAS President in May 2015 at the RIAS Convention which was held in Dundee. Prior to that Willie was the Convenor of the RIAS Practice Committee. He became a Past President of the RIAS at its 2017 Stirling Convention.
