SIC Ferries

  Shetland Islands Council Sic Ferries runs a small fleet of 20-50m day ferries that connect the different islands of Shetland. As Mate I was in charge of loading and discharging the vessel, day to day maintenance and liasing with the shore side engineering department for any out of service repairs. As Master I was responcible for the overall safety of the vessel, crew, passengers and cargo, safe navigation of the vessel, ISM management and crewing.
