This includes making sure the train is mechanically safe to move and that the train has one hundred percent working air brakes. I am also responsible for making the necessary repairs. Second, I served 2 years as a Car Repairman where in a repair shop, freight cars would come in with major defects that would require our team to work together to fix the defects. This includes changing wheel sets, fabricating metal, welding, and most important, making sure all safety appliances were following the AAR rules.
