Made Ya Smile Dental As an RDA at Made Ya Smile, I was responsible for assisting the doctor with restorative procedures (fillings, crowns, root canals, extractions, etc.). I also got some exposure to Lumineers. Additionally, I was responsible for taking radiographs (bitewings, PAs, pano's, etc.) as required for each patient, taking vitals, inputting patient notes, scheduling next appointments, sterilization, and generally whatever needed getting done. I worked at multiple locations within the practice and got a chance to work with 6 or so different dentists.

Sterilization Technician
-
Aug 2014 - Dec 2014
Made Ya Smile Dental As a sterilization technician, I was essentially responsible for ensuring all of the instruments were sterilized for use in the operatory because the dental practice was rather fast-paced compared to a typical practice. The position arose out of a need for an extra pair of hands in the building, so when I wasn't doing sterilization, I was helping out with whatever needed doing around the office and trying to get trained up for my transition to dental assistant.

Circuit Activations, Tier II Troubleshooter

Sep 2013 - May 2014
Fort Detrick, MD I got the incredible opportunity to work in Circuit Activations back at the TCF. In CKT ACTs, I was responsible for Tier II troubleshooting, working with the SKL and ensuring that crypto was functioning properly and possessed the correct key. This required me to work closely with the COMSEC vault personnel. A few months into my working on this team, our new ETC was almost finished being built, so we were tasked with setting up the facility, setting up and moving the circuits from the TCF to the new facility, then breaking down the old equipment in the TCF. This was in an effort to join the two facilities and maximize efficiency. I was also responsible for conducting briefings on signal flow of the TCF to higher-ups.

SATCOM Mission Planner

Mar 2013 - Sep 2013
Fort Detrick, MD After my time at the TCF, I briefly worked as a mission planner, coordinating and planning the setting up and taking down of satellite communications links with the controllers back at the ETC. Additionally, I helped run training exercises for the personnel at the facility to ensure proficiency and competence. I was also responsible for conducting briefs on signal flow of the facility to higher-ups.

Fort Detrick, MD At Fort Detrick, MD, I got the unique opportunity to become familiar with multiple areas of communications. The workload was a lot heavier here, so I got a lot more hands-on experience than at my previous duty station. The workload was a lot heavier here, so I got a lot more hands-on experience than at my previous duty station. Greater emphasis was placed on staying proficient at our jobs here, so if we didn't have much to do, we would set up practice links. Before too long, I started working at the TCF where I maintained the proper function of circuits both military and civilian. I did a lot of work with various KIVs and KGs and other crypto equipment here, troubleshot when necessary, and brought up and took down circuits as needed.

At my first unit, I was "deployed" to a STEP site in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom and Operation Enduring Freedom.
