Refrigeration: The Refrigeration system in service is a 3 stage system with a pumped receiver for each stage. It Has 6 Gea-Fes rotary compressors: 2-200hp, 2-300hp, 1-400hp and 1-75hp booster, there is 30,000 Lb of NH3 on site. The crew received factory training from the system’s builder, (General Refrigeration Delmar De.) on all facets of this operation. System Has: 48 Air units, 4 Plate chillers,6 Refrigerated Roof top air purification and make up units. Working with the Building engineer for the start up of this system, all state and TCPA requirements were met, and we also worked With G.R. on all parts of the facility’s construction. As many of the systems parts sat in a uncontrolled environment for 3 years before installation we received training cleaning and Rebuilding All the NH3 Control Valves in the system. Effluent system: The Engineers were also in charge of maintaining and the operation of the plants gray water effluent system. This system in design was grossly undersized, overworked and barely useable condition. We are working on it. It's a good day to find a Boss who loves his work. One thing is for sure, he wants everyone around Him to love what they do as well. Sharing information has become a pleasure now as well. In keeping with a new tradition, as the old supervisor left the owners brought in a new supervisor with over 35 years of experience and a good attitude. Hope he works with a long time. Show less

The annual cleaning of the evaporator units that was also ignored for the previous 10 years. Once this was done I became the bad guy. But still the list of problems was handed in January so they could delt with before the spring arrives. That proved useless as they were ignored until June. I would never recommend anyone work for this company. My supervisor had no Refrigeration experience, why I was reporting to him I have no idea. And the supervisors who did know, we're let go. However the tech personnel, excellent people knew what they were doing at least when they were finally brought out to the site. But still as an employee I was expected to fall on the sword for the greater good of the company. Not a friendly environment. Best left behind. Show less

The Ammonia System is undergoing a needed upgrade, and downsize. So here I am once again in the middle of another Refrigeration construction job. I pick up more information this way… There is no sarcasm when I say, I really do Love My job at Tropicana!
