It contains 34 images drawn by a Senior High School student to color, and 1-Wordsearch, 16 places to visit, and 10 of the most common plants in south jersey. Note these same images will be in full color and along with dozens more in my upcoming book Piney Joe Adventures- Exploring the New Jersey Pine Barrens. That has the same star as Piney Everlastings, Piney Joe the gnome. You’ve probably seen these plants that are central to pineycrafts and the US dried floral industry that ended in the early 1990s. People of south jersey proudly use the term Piney to describe themselves today. This coloring book’s original artwork was inspired by the people of the pines, the flowers and plants within the Pine Barrens, and the explorer in all of us. This provides your family an opportunity to encourage children and adults to see their environment in a more personal light. Piney Joe serves as your piney gnome guide who introduces you to plants & places of the New Jersey Pine Barrens. A diverse guide to backyard excursions or outdoor trips. Easy to color with colored pencils and crayons and would be a great teacher’s aide in broadening students learning by incorporating things they can see in their own backyards expanding on topics like conservation, environmentalism, and a greater appreciation for nature. Buy two one for you and one for a friend or family member and color the images together to share in a stress-free and fun activity. Show less

This funding gap must be filled by the creation of an ever-growing group of citizen volunteers. They can advocate the stewardship of public lands from positions on municipal environmental commissions, planning boards, and zoning boards, and from county and state government, but they must be trained. My training came from meeting twenty times for classroom and field study. I was taught by experts from Rutgers and its consortium partners. Myself and fellow alumni become certified as Rutgers Environmental Stewards by completing sixty hours of classroom instruction and sixty hours of volunteer internship. Show less
