Practice Manager - Criminal Law Division
-
Aug 2020 - Present
I appear daily, and usually for multiple clients, in Courts across the Sydney metropolitan area and rural New South Wales. I conduct Local and District Court sentences, section 32 applications, defended hearings, contested facts hearings and bail applications including show cause offences. I work autonomously, maintaining a large and varied criminal practice. However, consistent with Brydens Lawyers core values, I am respectful of others, passionate about improving client outcomes but also committed to using my skills and network to help others deliver high quality legal services. I supervise junior solicitors encouraging their growth and developing their criminal law practice and knowledge. Strengths: • Demonstrated ability to manage a large and varied caseload, manage and mentor junior solicitors and assist colleagues, whilst consistently providing quality advice and representation for my clients • Resilient and courageous advocate for my clients with a strong referral network, including from both colleagues and past clients • Ability to provide expert legal advice in a clear and concise manner, remaining adaptable and flexible at all times to meet the diverse needs of my clients • A problem solver and critical thinker • Strong commitment to remaining up to date in my criminal law practice and knowledge, by attending and participating in weekly criminal law meetings with my colleagues, attending CLE’s, lecturing at the SAVE Traffic Offenders Program • Proven ability to assist and learn from colleagues, be empathetic and participate in debates regarding law reforms and new regimes • Proficient use of technology and business enablers, and quickly adaptable to new technologies and processes
