I had the pleasure of creating the Peace Corps Thailand Student Friendly Schools workshop with William in its second and third roll-out and first unique culturally adapted version. His facilitation skills and his ability to create content, meaningful discussions and knowledge transfer is among the best.

I lived and worked in two separate villages in the northeastern (Isan) region of Thailand, in both Nakhon Ratchasima (Korat) and Udon Thani provinces, respectively. While operating in these two, primarily Lao-speaking, communities, I worked both individually and collaboratively with local government offices (อ.บ.ต / เทศบาล), schools, village officials and community youth to perform the following: - Completed comprehensive community needs assessments through community-mapping and participatory Analysis for Community Action (PACA) efforts - Taught societally and culturally appropriate psychosocial competency to various age-groups - Established a sub-district-wide youth council where local teens learned needs assessment skills, critically examined their communities and created and facilitated community-wide events, such as environmental awareness and drunk driving campaigns - Assisted teachers with lesson-plan writing, personal pedagogy and curriculum development - Coached the middle school football teams for two different village schools - Was a senior member of the Gender and Development committee that examined the role of social norms in society, which saw me co-design, co-direct and co-facilitate (in Thai and English) Peace Corps Thailand's Student Friendly Schools conferences in Ayutthaya, Thailand for Thai teachers, principals and their Peace Corps counterparts Show less
