Charlottesville, Virginia Area I interned in the VLSI Design Group on developing a project focused on sleep apnea. The goal of the project is to develop a low power and minimally invasive chip that can be implanted into a patient diagnosed with central or obstructive sleep apnea. I have done literature review work on sleep apnea implantation and detection methods that are currently being used and researched. The goal of the project is to develop a low power and minimally invasive chip that can be implanted into a patient diagnosed with central or obstructive sleep apnea. I have done literature review work on sleep apnea implantation and detection methods that are currently being used and researched. I am currently working with a graduate student in the group on developing a front-end approach to collecting heart rate data and then designing an algorithm to detect sleep apnea. After developing a detection algorithm, the algorithm will be built on a custom digital accelerator for testing. Show less
