  Assisted with labor and preparation before dives. Made equipment checks for safety purposes, in which attention to detail is crucial. Jobs included maneuvering the boat, or free boating, while diver worked underwater, lead diver, mooring engineer, maintenance of equipment, salvage work, and dock engineer. Teamwork, and attention to detail is pivotal to maintain a safe environment for the entire team. Clear verbal and non-verbal communication is also extremely important for safety. Developed a “Job Equipment Checklist”, which list all the necessary equipment needed for a specific job, including approximate cost, and average time required for completion. This was used to give accurate quotes to customers. Trained new employees, and developed task protocols to maximize efficiency.

  Worked closely with Executive Director to develop, and complete a dynamic payroll system, vacation tracker, and receipt filing system. A commanding knowledge of Excel and superior attention to detail was required in ensuring an error free system. Clear communication was essential when discussing the system with the Executive Director, as to fully understand the requirements needed. A library of research documents also needed to be constructed. Documents had to be logged into Endnote, and filed alphabetical by author. Aside from the document’s citation information, specific keywords had to be pulled out of each document, which required a keen eye, and attention to detail.

  Perform the basic managerial tasks. Prepare for the day, and open up shop. Construct a list of objectives that would need to be completed by the end of the day. Hired my own staff, and developed the schedules. Inspected current inventory, researched trends, and made purchases of product. Researched and tested all new products, to make sure they were up to our standards; and negotiate terms, discounts, and promotions. Developed marketing strategies, and promotional advertising campaigns, in which event planning played a big role in building a strong customer base. Selling and teaching good selling techniques played a big part in my managerial position. Realized that there was a learning gap among the employees, and developed training and trouble shooting manuals. Noticed peaks and valleys in monthly sales, then conducted further research in past sales, which resulted in accurate inventory forecasting. My years there were the most profitable in the shops history.
