Program Manager/Docking Officer

Mar 2017 - Mar 2021
Work Integration Manager - Coordinated all external organizations, both government and private contractors, performing work at Portsmouth Naval Shipyard in support of Engineered Overhaul of the USS HAMPTON, a 688 class submarine. Integrated maintenance and modernization work performed by those entities into the overall project schedule, certified performance of quality work and testing, and leveraged my experience operating a 688 class submarine to facilitate communication and collaboration between the ship's crew and shipyard senior managers. (Mar2017-Jul2018) Shipyard Docking Officer - Facility Operations Supervisor for the dry dock program at Portsmouth Naval Shipyard. Responsible for planning, operations, and maintenance of 3 graving docks and associated support services. Maintained certification of these dry docks per the MIL-STD 1625D. Directed a cross-functional team including personnel from Project Management, Operations, Facility Engineering, Maintenance, and Trade shops. Led this team in support of 12 submarine docking events, delivery and acceptance testing of a new caisson gate, certification of several major mechanical, structural and electrical repairs and upgrades, and design approval for first-of-its-kind superflood basin and multi-mission dry dock construction project. Because this required integrating operation and maintenance schedules with the construction timelines for the facility improvement projects, I developed strong relationships with the Naval Facilities Engineering Command and their construction partners as well as all of the senior managers at the shipyard.
