Worked on and took lead on various projects on a cloud based financial compliance service. Largely a backend C# role but have worked on the frontend (React & TypeScript) and AWS infrastructure using Terraform. Notable projects have included: - Leading a project to integrate a third-party data source (ESMA FIRDS) into the service. Pushed on several new areas in the business including using more native AWS services (Glue & Athena), using the Serverless framework for deploying applications, and better monitoring solutions for applications. - Designed a system for statically analysing the internal rules language to convert from boolean expressions (are you compliant or not?) into ranges (how much trading can occur before you need to take action) - Designed various long term plans to migrate a "legacy" .NET application to .NET Core and re-architect it from a monolithic batch process to a distributed one using various AWS native cloud services with the aim of improving performance and decreasing costs.
