As an Implementation Engineer I worked as a member of our Global Services Support Team. Responsibilities included but were not limited to the following: Support of Field Engineers by ordering and providing any and all materials necessary (Fiber optic jumpers, attenuators, ground cables, rectifiers, test equipment, tools, floor protection etc.) to successfully install ONI Systems optical network hardware, superstructure and other required equipment. Attending Site Surveys and collecting required data. Compiled relevant installation data into “Scope of work” documentation to be delivered to customer site management and Operations teams prior to scheduling any on-site work. Obtaining all necessary signatures for scope of work approvals. Assisted with obtaining secure site access for access restricted sites for our field service technicians. Asset Management and procurement of all specialized installation equipment required for successful installation. Obtaining internal purchase orders, work orders and approvals. Scheduling of deliveries. Working closely with outside vendors and field service personnel to ensure all deliveries and inventories were completed according “Scope of Work” documentation. Proactively communicating all workflow milestones to all customers on a daily basis. Upon completion of all on-site work and turn up of network systems and network access, an N.T.P. (Network Turnover Package) was drafted and delivered. The N.T.P. package included all relevant data for the installation. Manufacturer name, serial numbers,model numbers, and locations and positions of each component and all cable runs to and from each new network node, router, patch panels,power bays and rectifiers including all cable and port positions. Detailed rack drawings and High level network architecture overviews detailing each relevant building, it’s location and it’s relation to the network backbone and each ILEC C.O. or service center were also provided for every installation.
