Olympic 49er Sailing Campaign

  As semi-professional athlete Wilco was part of the Olympic 49er sailing circuit. Together with his teammate they sailed typically hundred days per year and performed at the international grand prix regattas. Wilco managed to fund its Olympic Sailing Team cost of approx.. 75 thousand Euros per year, by sponsorship of companies and support the Netherlands Sailing Federation. In this short time he managed get top-ten results at international grand prix regattas, select the Netherlands for 2008 Olympics (but shortcoming in NSF posting) and win the Netherlands cup. Post campaigning, Wilco performed professional coaching&training in olympic sailing until 2011. Show less
