I am a medical speech-language pathologist (SLP), currently working for HealthProHeritage at Person Memorial Hospital. Specialization in treating swallowing disorders (dysphagia) & cognitive-communication disorders in adults and the geriatric population. I diagnose and treat Stroke (CVA) patients, traumatic-brain injury (TBI), dementia, Alzheimer's, ALS, CP, Down's syndrome, Parkinson's disease, head and neck cancer, & so much more! I am proficient in and regularly conduct Modified Barium Swallow Studies (MBSS), which is the gold standard of objective functional imaging studies for diagnosing & creating treatment plans for swallowing disorders (dysphagia). I practice with a person-centered and holistic approach across the lifespan, with a love for the diagnostic process. I have completed a Master's level graduate assistantship focusing on Right-Hemisphere Disorder (RHD), & am passionate and ever-curious about neuroanatomy, physiology, and all there is to learn about the human brain, including all of its' fascinating intricacies. My research is never-ending, as I use evidence-based practice research and studies, as the compass to guide my unique methodology for treatment of the disorders of swallowing, speech, language, voice, cognition, fluency, pragmatics, and so much more. I lean on my fellow MD's, NP's, DO's, PT's, OT's, RD's, RN's, CNA's, SW's, mental health professionals, caregivers, and other supporting professionals to deliver quality care that takes a collaborative and multi-disciplinary approach in patient care. I'm the SLP that will go through an entire binder of health records, and interview the family, and caregiver's (and patient themselves), to make sure I don't miss an important piece of the diagnostic puzzle. This is to ensure every patient's treatment plan is all encompassing, truly one-of-a-kind, and tailored just for them. P.S.
