Whitney and I had the pleasure of attending the Arts Schools Network Conference in October 2021 as representatives of Denver School of the Arts (DSA); prior to, I was not well acquainted with Whitney and I was grateful for the chance to build a meaningful connection. It was abundantly clear why Whitney was selected to attend this conference, as she is a thoughtful listener and an innovative thinker. Back at school, I made a point of connecting with Whitney on a regular basis, spending time in her classroom and witnessing her impact on the students. It is evident to colleagues and students alike that she is kind-hearted and logical, able to provide feedback and support with empathy and clarity. Her impact was far greater than I think she realized and her presence will be missed. She held positions on a number of DSA committees, such as the Senior Leadership Team and the New Hire Committee. More recently, she was selected as a member of the eleven-person team working on the Denver School of the Arts' strategic plan with CRANE, providing important insights on the culture of the school and changes for the next five years. It should be noted that even after she tendered resignation, DSA leadership still believed her input in the project to be valuable and she remains on the team, evaluating the changes to be put forth. Beyond her quantifiable skills and her role as science teacher, she was much more to the students of DSA. They came to her with their personal problems and struggles and named her as a "trusted adult" in their lives. She has quickly become a "trusted adult" in my life and wherever she goes next, her colleagues will be lucky to have her discernment and compassion, and her ability to connect the dots and expand possibilities. Whitney is committed to the interconnectivity of work and play, and the dynamics of how our personal and emotional lives influence the way we learn and connect. She is a perpetual student, looking for the answers she seeks, as well as being open to the challenge of new ideas. She is tenacious and grounded and would be an excellent addition to any team looking to enhance our future.

When Whitney worked for me as a Study Coordinator at University Physicians Group - Research Division, I felt that it was a very good fit. She is very detailed oriented, which a must in this profession, she was quite personable and well liked by the patients in the study and took on whatever was assigned to her willingly. She also had a good rapport with her co-workers and was always willing to lend a hand to them when needed.
