      I provide short term therapeutic mental health services to teenagers ages 12-18 in the Kaiser system who need more direct care. STEP is a short-term 10 day Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP) that works with a multidisciplinary team consisting of a health information specialist, a counselor, clinicians, a a clinical supervisor, nurses, and a psychiatrist. During a youth's 10-day enrollment, STEP provides individual, group, and family counseling based on the big 5 therapy interventions: DBT, CBT, Narrative Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, and Mindfulness.

      This role is multifaceted and consists of many tasks such as processing phone calls on both emergency and non emergency lines, dispatching over the police radio, record keeping, processing of paperwork, filing audio requests from the District Attorney's office, and so much more. Additionally, I spearheaded the Autism Awareness Patch Project in which the proceeds are donate to the special needs programs within the Alameda Unified School District. In 2020, I was named as Dispatcher of the Year. I am also an integral member of the agency's internal Peer Support team and provide regular training to new incoming officers.
