Whitney joined our team as the Community Engagement Intern from May 2018 through July 2018. It was a pleasure to work alongside Whitney who is highly perceptive and immediately understood We, Ceremony's identity and brand image. She was able to navigate the various social media channels we used and implemented tactics that resulted in a marked increase in our social media following and online engagement. Specifically, we witnessed an approximate 22% increase in our Instagram following. Whitney's strong critical-thinking skills and thorough research were necessary for her role as We, Ceremony is built on interviews and storytelling. Whitney always acted with intention and consideration for our sometimes sensitive content, which covered topics spanning across cultures, identities, and generations. This was valuable as we were looking for a candidate who could communicate with diverse audiences. She actively contributed ideas to interact with our followers and to be more inclusive. In addition to creating meaningful content, Whitney was also successful in building lasting relationships with our features and readers. Furthermore, we appreciated Whitney's flexibility and project management skills. We, Ceremony is a start-up and Whitney was able to multi-task and work independently to ensure all projects were completed in a timely manner. Through her time with We, Ceremony, Whitney demonstrated that she is a thought-leader and her passion for social justice is palpable.

Whitney worked as part of my tea as the Development Executive from April 2016 through June 2017. It was a pleasure to work with Whitney, who is a highly motivated and results-oriented professional. She was always full of creative ideas and was willing to approach challenges and problems head-on, with a can-do attitude. The role Whitney took on was a new one to our organization; she was the first person to lead formal fundraising efforts in China. We knew this would be a challenging position and would require someone who was proactive, flexible, and who could forge positive working relationships and networks for Animals Asia that traversed cultural boundaries. Whitney went beyond our expectations in these and many other areas. She was able to navigate the financials, write original partnership proposals, win grants from international funding bodies, cultivate community and prospective donor relationships, and represent Animals Asia as our face on the ground in Shanghai. I have confidence in her decision-making and professionalism. Whitney during her time at Animals Asia demonstrated great resilience. She navigated challenging times with a positive attitude delivering strong results.
