  For the application of coating orthopedic titanium implants, silver compounds were used due to the antimicrobial agents that are known to be good for bacterial inhibition. These silver compounds were sputtered into titanium in the various formulations: AgO, Ag2O and Ag2ONx. Punch-outs of the silver-coated pieces underwent several tests to see any inhibition of bacterial growth. These tests include zones of inhibition (ZOI), adhesion assays, and kinetic runs. The results of the projects were ideal and was featured in SJACS and STEM at Rowan University. Accepted for presentation at Stevens University for the 3rd Stevens Conference on Bacteria-Material Interactions.
