In my role as a Collector within the Arrears Support Unit, I worked with customers in financial difficulty on a daily basis. My objective was to work closely with borrowers in alleviating their difficult financial situation by negotiating payments towards their mortgage arrears or, if the difficulty is serious or long term in nature, agreeing sustainable temporary arrangements regarding the mortgage so as to benefit both the customer and the business going forward. During my time in AIB I was seconded to the Tracker Mortgage Review project which was a critical workstream for the business. The role was very demanding but a valuable experience. Whilst working in AIB I successfully attained a Professional Diploma in Financial Advice and am now a Qualified Financial Advisor. Show less

Dunnes Hardware is a small enterprise that specialises in price-competitive hardware and furniture goods, as well as gardening equipment and electrical appliances. I worked every Friday afternoon and Saturday and am generally unaccompanied, requiring a great deal of responsibility and work-rate. Working in a challenging environment whilst also attending college has proved difficult at times, however it has illustrated clearly the importance of time management and hard work. Show less
