I took this time off from work to recenter and refocus my priorities in my life. It has been wonderful and I would recommend a work gap to anyone. Take your kids on a long cross-country trip, learn a new language, read those books on your book list, be there for someone who might need some help or just have someone to listen to them. I live in a house that was built in 1901 on about 20 acres so there is always something to do. Do it. I promise you won't regret it.
