Having worked with Wendy in the public school system, I can confidently describe her as dependable, punctual and flexible. Wendy managed to assist 6 fifth-grade teachers and their classrooms on a daily basis as well as taking care of medical needs within the school. She entered the school each day with a positive attitude and a willingness to help wherever needed. Wendy was able to use her plethora of knowledge to assist the students academically in science, social studies, mathematics, and reading. She made it a priority to dive into the curriculum in order to best assist and challenge her students. She also dedicated time to getting to know each student as an individual and form a bond that did not go unnoticed. Overall, Wendy is an extremely hard worker and would be a valuable asset in any situation.

I transitioned into a regular education instructional assistant position following my time working in the special education classroom. I collaborated and built strong rapport with six teachers and approximately 160 fifth-grade students. Throughout the year, I refined my skills in tutoring, leading small group activities, and substituting in Math, Science, English, and Social Studies. I provided insights on learning/behavior and helped academically. My team noted that I am trustworthy, friendly, capable, and dedicated. They gave me the highest score in relationship building on my evaluation. I started exploring the field of public education and gained experience as a Special Education Instructional Assistant. I taught students one-on-one, explained academic concepts and material, and answered questions. I prepared daily lesson plans, classroom materials, and activity resources. I also provided special aid to physically disabled students. Every day, I documented behaviors and student data, while also aiding in deescalating situations and protecting other students. I studied varied child information and learned to quickly "read the room" to pick up on impact cues, which involved needing to adjust reactions and behaviors accordingly. The two lead teachers awarded me the highest ratings in every category on my end-of-year evaluation, including but not limited to dependability, demonstrating initiative, work quality, and support of learning/teaching. Between my college studies, I worked as a concessionist and served as a frontline employee for customers. I aided those who were purchasing their tickets and addressed any of their logistical questions. In addition, I handled concerns regarding tickets like reprinting, refunding, and swapping them. I improved the work environment by organizing, restocking supplies, and cleaning in a timely fashion.
