While in my position I sold and dispensed glasses per the optometrists order. Entered all orders into the EHR. Verfied insurances and explained them to the patients. Scheduled patients over the phone. Faxed, scanned, and filed paper charts daily. Throughout my day I practiced patient confidentiality, otherwise known as, HIPAA. Helped customers with their glasses if they were having issues. I have learned great customer service skills through this job experience. I was also in charge of opening and closing the store, which entailed running end of day reports, closing registers, and cleaning the store. Show less

While my first few experiences in eyecare started with Vision Pro Optical they will always remain in my heart. From training to the first customer at this job, it shows how far I have gone in the healthcare industry today. My expertise is growing and customer service is a huge factor to focus on in healthcare. As being trained in the company, HIPAA was a huge policy and procedure that we had to follow.
