Ms. Schmidt, OTR/L, MPA has over 30 years of rehabilitation experience providing occupational therapy evaluations and treatment to physically and neurocognitively challenged infants, children and adults. She has been and continues to consult on numerous international child health projects where she has experienced in country, conditions known to orphaned infants and children in Russia, Romania, Poland, Thailand, Laos and Africa. Her treatment approach is designed for infants and children exposed to institutional settings (orphanages, long-term hospitalization) incorporating years of experience as a researcher on various international child health projects, as well as experiences as a home care and now as a clinic based, pediatric occupational therapist. Ms Schmidt’s treatment model is designed especially for infants and children from post-institutional settings and includes ABA, FloorTime/ Stanley Greenspan, M.D., The SonRise Program/Options Institute and more traditional sensory, motor-based approaches.
