Wendy is a freelancer with the Historic Fredericksburg Foundation, Inc. As Director of Operations, I am always looking for people to write on behalf of our organization to educate people on historic preservation. I've provided Wendy with loose topics and she does all of the research necessary to come up with compelling articles. These are either published in our Fredericksburg publications or our organization's blog. She also read and did research for a walking tour that we hosted. This is something I'm sure we'll ask her to help with in the future as it was a success. The script she came up with was fascinating to our guests. Not only is she a pleasure to work with, but she puts out a quality product. Her style of writing makes you want to keep reading to find out more. She is thorough in her research, yet completes the task quickly and independently. Wendy is fantastic!

I created an original column called Retro Reads for a city that greatly values its historic roots. The column brings often-forgotten stories from the newspaper's past to light and helps people understand better who they are and where they have come from. I also contribute feature articles and book reviews. My stories have been picked up by 8 different newspapers in Virginia and shared hundreds of times on social media. My book reviews have been quoted by Amazon in their editorial review section. I am also a staff writer for Prince William Living magazine, where I contribute feature articles to the print magazine as well as sponsored articles for online content. On a volunteer basis, I have created a variety of content to engage, inform, and persuade the public about the necessity of historic preservation, including blog posts, newspaper articles, and scripts for walking tours for Historic Fredericksburg Foundation, Inc.
