  I work with NAPHE in teaching high school students who want to enter the health care profession. I teach the Med Pro Tech classes and Medical Terminology. I also continue my work with diabetes education and I am on the advisory board for CHRC to help identify and meet the needs of health care in Boone county. I continue to facilitate the diabetes support group for adults and youth. I am hoping to soon start an evening group for adults.   I was employed as an inpatient and outpatient diabetic educator. As the inpatient educator, duties included education to the nursing staff, direct patient education for newly diagnosed diabetes patients and those who diabetes was uncontrolled. I was on the diabetes team management committee and the patient education committee. I also conducted workshops for outpatients in the clinic setting teaching about diabetes self-management. I conducted numerous workshops in the community for education on diabetes and other health topics, participated in health fairs and assisted with diabetes support group in Branson. I also facilitate the adult diabetes support group in Harrison, Arkansas and a youth support group in Harrison. I continue to speak in various venues on the importance of diabetes self-management.
