Wendy was one of the best brand managers I've ever worked with. She consistently gave her all to our team and was critical to the timely completion of our projects. Wendy was always trustworthy and professional, and she was a calming influence on all of us during difficult times. Wendy was a pleasure to work with in general, and I have no hesitation in recommending her to anyone looking for an exceptional Brand Manager."

Wendy is a hard worker, with creative marketing ideas and passion for her craft. She had many different responsibilities and had to carry out different roles, as a marketer, coordinator, event manager and copywriter! The way she managed all different roles is a statement of her versitality and will take her place in her career. I enjoyed working with Wendy and would strongly recommend her. She would be a very strong addition to any team and company.

Writing responsibilities include writing blog articles, conducting interviews, research, editing, and assisting with print and electronic projects such as video scripts. Project Management: In charge of video documentation for multiple installation projects, training events, and workshops for engineers and contractors. These were used later as reference points for other projects. Using Adobe Creative Suite Apps such as InDesign, Photoshop, and Illustrator, I created compelling content to effectively convey the product story on the company's social media handles and website to increase brand awareness. Public Relations/Account Management: On the company's CRM, maintain ongoing relationships with external agencies, media, journalists, channel partners, and offices in Africa, Europe, and the United States, as well as a comprehensive database of targeted business and industry news outlets. I am in charge of coordinating the implementation of all agreed-upon marketing and public relations strategies and also monitoring ongoing campaign performance. Build strong relationships with local government officials, regulatory agencies like KEBS, and non-governmental organizations. Assist product managers in creating advertising campaign strategies and the upkeep of company media libraries through video, film, and press archives. Raise brand awareness through event sponsorship, brand partnership opportunities, and participation in trade shows and online webinars. Tailored marketing pitches to target demographics generated millions in additional revenue at a low cost, with social media accounting for at least 98% of African sales. During the pandemic, my fiancé and I collaborated and began producing dog food to alleviate the shortages caused by the closure of most businesses. We bought dog food from slaughterhouses to feed our four pets, and the meal was well received. After a few weeks, orders increased, and our clients reported that their dogs' coats and overall health had improved. So, being the social media marketer that I am, I created an Instagram page and gained 500 followers and a slew of repeat customers who had nothing but positive things to say. As a result of this endeavor, we've met and networked with other dog lovers in Nairobi, and two of our dogs have won awards. Our dog family grew to 16 dogs after Kash and Chester had litters of puppies in our tiny two-bedroom apartment. It was overwhelming, but the online community to which we began selling dog food was gracious enough to accommodate our 12 puppies, who are now adopted and thriving in their new homes! We're now down to four dogs: Chester, a beautiful, trained, obedient Rottweiler; Kash, a clean, grumpy old Japanese Spitz; mother to Jeshi, an award-winning male pup; and finally "Little Panda," a mini panda look-alike and a furball of happiness. During photo and video shoots, I assisted with the creation, adjustment, and editing of brand content. Tasked with proofreading proposals, reports, and other non-governmental organizations' publications I worked with designers and printers while communicating with customers and product managers as part of my project management responsibilities. Brand Management: Plan and participate in promotional activities, corporate social responsibility initiatives, and trade shows to sell products and services. Account Management: Developed and maintained customer relationships, resulting in a 22% increase in annual retention. In addition to managing social media accounts, I was in charge of developing marketing strategies to promote products and services alongside sales efforts. Market research: We conducted market research to assess the efficacy of one of our product lines, a polyethylene-lined tote bag. Purchasing media: organizing and monitoring press events Reporting: At weekly meetings, I used PowerPoint presentations to effectively present information to customers, employees, and organizational leaders. Maintain a record of edits and product deployments across all media, perform ROI analysis, and share key findings with stakeholders. Show less

In my spare time, my love of the English language and a desire to earn enough money to enroll in driving school pushed me into part-time translation and transcription jobs. I was working with an American organization at the time to support research efforts aimed at preventing drug abuse through methadone use in Tanzania and women's reproductive health in Uganda.
