  • The Crossroads Journal
    • Eagle Mountain, Utah
    • Owner/Publisher
      • Nov 2013 - Apr 2021

I purchased The Crossroads Journal newspaper November 1, 2013. I have lived in the Eagle Mountain area where The Crossroads Journal has been printed and published for over 9 years. The Crossroads was the best resource I found to read about the news and information in our area. In March of 2012 I contacted the publisher to find out cost and information on advertising the charter school I was the parent association president at. In March of 2013 I contacted the publisher about advertising. I was impressed with the direct and an indirect response from the advertising. I believed that the paper provided a service to our area in many ways. I approached the owner about purchasing the paper. We negotiated over many months until the final acquisition in November 2013. My first goal was to create a website and update the information for the community that would be accessible by internet. The next goal was to focus more of the content of the paper on news. It was also important to update the look of the paper and the content. The paper is delivered to homes in Eagle Mountain, Saratoga Springs, Cedar Fort and Fairfield, Lehi, American Fork, Highland, Alpine and Cedar Hills. It is free to all residence and has no official affiliation with any other business or entity. It is a work in progress and a labor of service. We have a small contracted distribution staff, writers, editors and art directors. In 2014 we have expanded the area coverage and changed and updated the style of the paper. We were also accepted into the Utah Press Association in March 2014. We continue to strive to improve in all areas. Show less

In April of 2011 I was elected as the president of the family school organization in our public charter school. I assisted and coordinated volunteers and donations to the school. I coordinated many public events that contributed to a mutual contribution with both the school and the community. I volunteer and assist in our city Miss America scholarship pageant by supporting the director and the participants. I volunteer at many city events.
