Wendy is a very skillful and passionate teacher. She brings with her years of experience teaching students of all ages on various subjects, technical and non-technical. All these benefited her Digital World 20/20 students at Temple University, who are non-engineering majors, most getting exposure to digital technology with hands-on labs for the first time. Using her combined background and skills in hardware and software, Wendy was creative in her teaching material and style, and patient yet demanding with her students. The course includes labs in Python and Raspberry Pi. She spent extra time to test and verify all the steps. She is very result-oriented. She asked that her students post their representative work on their own protected web site throughout the semester. This in turn allows the students to perfect web site creation skills, not to mention students can later include the links in their resumes. Wendy is resourceful and often goes beyond expectation. She would often add props to bring a point across and show case the latest digital technology and trends to her students. The students are from a very diverse background and Wendy taught them well accordingly. When we switched to a new learning management tool, Wendy was proactive in trying and applying the most effective tool features for her class such as a mix of online and paper quizzes and the use of a ‘mute’ button. These often require lots of trials, and extra resource and stamina, in addition to the regular teaching load but Wendy never hesitated in finding the best solutions.
