  Braid Mission builds community around the needs of youth whose life experience has included the challenge of being in foster care.We were founded on the belief that each of us is created as a unique person with a unique purpose, which can be lost or broken as we journey through life. It is particularly difficult when children lose that sense of worth, value, and self. But we also believe that love and the consistency presence of a caring adult can heal wounds and that everyone – whether or not you describe yourself as a person of faith – has the power to bring healing love to a foster child.This organization seeks to weave together a community of people of all faiths and backgrounds who are looking for a spiritual home and who want to help create a safe space for foster youth. We have teams working throughout the Bay Area.Braid is a ministry of the Episcopal Church, which has a tradition of commitment to social justice and ethics.

  Served as an Interfaith Staff Chaplain in a community hospital affiliated with the Oregon Health Sciences University system. Supported a diverse population of patients, family, and staff in ICU, ED, geriatric-psychiatry unit, family birth center, and general med-surg units. Created and implemented a three-day staff wellness event for 1,200 staff during the pandemic and provided ongoing support to staff who are struggling with compassion fatigue and moral injury.
