I first came to know Wendy as a student in her undergraduate design studio class at SUNY ESF. Wendy's greatest strength as a professor (and she had many) was her innate ability to cultivate one's design process by teaching you to ask the appropriate questions - gently guiding you to find the best possible solution. Over the course of that academic year, she instilled a true sense of confidence in me and my design process. Later, as my superior at Dirtworks, I learned many great things from Wendy as I watched her excel as a multifaceted designer and project manager. As designer, she exercises a sharp focus for detail and an understanding of materials and systems that is second to none. As manager, her ability to communicate, motivate and execute projects efficiently and effectively resulted in the successful completion of unique and beautiful landscapes.
