Total P & L responsibility for all operations of a $20M unionized manufacturing facility employing 120 people. Managed all Manufacturing, Administration (Payroll, A/P, and Human Resources), Shipping and Receiving, Quality Control, Engineering & Maintenance, Inventory Control, and Health, Safety, and Environmental activities. This position reports to the V. P. Divisional General Manager. Designed and implemented improvements in lead-times, on-time shipments, order accuracy, quality, and cost effectiveness which facilitated a period of rapid growth, increasing Annual Sales by 66%. Developed a process of employee education, empowerment and feedback which increased Production Efficiency from 85% to 115% of standard. Initiated a goal-focused supervisory and management system including new performance parameters which resulted in an Operating Income increase of $2.8M. Wrote and implemented an annual Waste Reduction Plan which set goals for raw materials usage, rejects, raw material scrap, finished goods scrap, and waste, resulting in a savings of $639K. Developed a new Plant Safety Program based on total management buy-in and employee involvement. As a direct result, the facility safety record was greatly improved, and included a period of 892 workdays without a lost time incident. Show less

Managed manufacturing, shipping and receiving, inventory control, facilities and equipment maintenance, quality assurance, safety, and traffic. Set up productivity standards which reduced labor expense by $1.6M and dramatically improved customer confidence through better quality products. Wrote SB 198 program, Haz Mat training program, set up MSDS catalog, and a new OSHA compliant safety manual which reduced lost time accidents by 40%.
