Wayne also Co-Directed the commercial spots with legendary fashion photographer & icon Herb Ritts. Burt was nominated for the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor for the film "Boogie Nights" at the time. Elizabeth Taylor asked Burt if he would be in commercials for her new perfume. Being polite, he said yes, thinking she would not actually ask him, as he had no natural connection to women's perfume. Elizabeth did ask Burt to do it. Burt was panicked that doing a commercial might jeopardize his chances of winning an Oscar. So he asked Elizabeth Arden to find a real comedy writer that could make Burt look good. Elizabeth Arden called Wayne. Wayne and co-writer Jeff McCarthy wrote hilarious bad-boy spots for Burt that played to his mischievous bad-boy who loves women persona. They were a huge hit, being covered by main stream media & Burt was ecstatic and thrilled. Lines played with Burt's image, including his messy divorce to TV start Loni Anderson... Burt: "Women are like the weather... Sometimes hot, sometimes cold... no-one can predict them... And sometimes they take away your house." • "Let's Go Mets" (Music Video) Producer - Director - Writer & "Making of Let's Go Mets" (Documentary)
      • Jun 1986 - Aug 1986

Wayne Conceived, Produced, Directed, Wrote (script) & Edited famed Platinum selling "Let's Go Met's" ("Let's Go Mets, Go") music video for legendary NY Met's baseball team that then won 1986 World Series. Wayne conceived, storyboarded & wrote the music video script (including famed kids playing baseball cards opening scene with Met stars) & based on the great song written by Shelly Palmer, Gregory Smith & Hal Hackady. Wayne shot the music video on film. Wayne was just a few years out of NYU Film school, but already had 60+ TV Episodes, Commercials & Music Video credits (directing, producing, camera, audio & editing), including Talking Heads "Stay Up Late" & UB40-Chrissie Hynde "I Got You Babe" & worked with Oscar-winning Director Milos Forman as editor-cameraman for innovative pre-production for his Oscar-winning film "Amadeus". Super Bowl Champ Chicago Bears made successful "Super Bowl Shuffle" music video. There was opportunity for the colorful Mets to do a video. Palmer had beautifully produced catchy "Let's Go Met's" song & approached Wayne (previously Producer for Palmer's music production company) to pitch Jerry Della Famina & his executives Bob Sherman & John Olken... then the Met's & distributor Vestron Video to do Mets music video with release of the song. Wayne loved the song & idea of Mets music video, but rejected popular thought to copy Super Bowl Shuffle singing-dancing style. Instead, Wayne conceived it as a citywide celebration for the team with Mets players, coaches, fans & NY celebs (Howard Stern, Tony Bennet, Mayor Ed Koch) with game highlights. Vestron wanted a hour video to sell (music video was 5 minutes). So, a documentary crew (directed by Donna Miller) followed Wayne on-screen as "Making of: Let's Go Met's" video, with player & celeb interviews. The resulting "Let's Go Met's" video was a huge hit, certified Platinum, became 2nd biggest-selling & fastest-selling sports video of all time, selling over a million copies in weeks. Show less

    • "AMADEUS" (Movie Drama) - Pre-Production Editor - Cameraman - Audio Mixer
      • Jan 1983 - Jun 1983

While still an NYU student, Wayne worked personally with multi-Oscar winning Director Milos Forman and multi-Oscar winning Producer Saul Zaentz on an innovative pre-production process for the Academy Award winning film "Amadeus". Wayne (cameraman & audio mixer) & a small crew videotaped every scene during the casting process. All the actors had to tryout in full wardrobe & make-up. Through the daily process over months, with tryouts in NY & London, EVERY SCENE in the movie was videotaped by 3 cameras with all the actors. Wayne then edited essentially the entire movie's scenes BEFORE the film was filmed in Czech Republic and Prague. Wayne was able to edit actors together in scenes that did not even read together, to see their on-screen chemistry. This process definitely helped Best Actor Oscar winner F. Murray Abraham win the coveted role of Salieri. The process allowed Milos to test out all the scenes before he filmed the final versions. This also helped make crucial script revisions. Wayne filmed & edited scenes with actors Tom Hulce (Oscar nominated), F. Murray Abraham (Oscar winner), Elizabeth Berridge & others that tried out including: Jennifer Jason Leigh, Amy Irving, Sam Waterston, Mark Hamill, Tim Curry, Mick Jaggar & many others. Considered one of the greatest films of all time, "Amadeus" was nominated for 53 awards & received 40, including 8 Academy Awards (including Best Picture), 4 BAFTA Awards, 4 Golden Globe Awards, & DGA Award.
