Working from home (remote) underwriting residential and Buy to Let mortgage applications in line with responsible lending policies using over a decade’s industry knowledge of credit risk, Treating Customers Fairly and Financial Conduct Authority best practice.Making informed lending decision through use of the application information, credit files, conversations with brokers/packagers etc... I'm able to consider risk policy and any mitigation's that will offer the fairest outcome for customers and the business.Vida Homeloans is a specialist Mortgage Lender dealing with applications where there is some dependence on credit scorecards and automation but, there is still a need for manual underwriting which I excel in. My lending decisions are based on financial conditions, evolution of risk appetite and risk management and don’t simply rely on lending policies.I have a good understanding of horizon risk management and business resilience and when I joined Vida, I highlighted several areas of improvement which were supported by their Credit Risk team. Something I thoroughly enjoy is contact with the introducer community. I'm always keen to speak with those that have dealt with customers directly (if not the customers themselves), and I have had very positive feedback about how I built good relationships with several firms in the short time I was with Vida. I find this mutually beneficial in both speeding up processing and policy mitigation, getting the story behind a specialist mortgage application is key in my experience.
