Wayne represented the electrical contractor association sector of my business team during the four year delivery of Ergon Energy’s successful RECESS program. Displaying professional delivery to large audiences of challenging business and compliance changes over many intra-state journeys across Queensland, Wayne was a trusted and versatile corporate identity who brought real grassroots experience to strategic discussions. I hold Wayne’s business acumen in the highest regard and am keen to join him in the future for other similar challenges.

Malcolm Richards

Wayne worked with me at MEA for a number of years where he rose to be the GM or Service delivery. He was always extremely conscious of the needs of our members an high on communicating with them. He managed some difficult programs with ease and built a great team around him. I can highly recommend Wayne for a similar position anytime in the future.

As Director of Persian International Wines P/L it was my responsibility to ensure we had product, and all the required infrastructure to develop, market and sell wine to the Australian and overseas market both online and face to face. Never having been part of the wine industry prior meant there was a lot of research to be done in various sectors from understanding the wine process from bulk wine to the bottled product and then to the legislation and licencing around the production and selling of wine to the public to the final reporting required to remain compliant. To comply with legislation this wine had to be sourced through Queensland wineries using locally produced bulk Red and White wines, through vast community consultation and research into what was the correct flavor we were able to create the recipe which would remain the bases of our wines into the future. Achievements • Through heavy community consultation we were able to achieve the flavors required • Developed the recipe for a Shiraz and Chardonnay, locate a suitable bottle, bottle cap • Developed a label for both wine styles • Created a website along with a payment gateway and dispatch options • Worked closely with the Office of Liquor and Gaming to obtain our Wine Merchants licence in a more than suitable time • Have everything in place for our launch at the Persian New Year in March 2018 Key Responsibilities • Business set up and registration • Develop all Management and Operational Aspects of a newly formed business • Arrange the correct Licencing and complete the premises requirements • Develop relationships with wineries and other suppliers to ensure availability of product • Develop quality assurance program to ensure safety and quality of product from bulk wine through to completed product • Development of marketing material • Development of Accounting and banking processes • Ensure Compliance with Legislation, Regulations and Acts Show less

Commenced with ECA in July 2009 as a technical officer involved the provision of electrically based technical advice and business advice to a 2000 strong membership. This role also required the development of media releases, technical papers, and the maintenance of a complex data base. Start Electrical Contracting Business from start, The idea came from relationships created whilst working for another contracting business who was looking to close their doors. I created a business plan, budgets and a vision of where I would like to be in 5 years detailing the preferred clientele to ensure as best possible stability and security. This was a valuable tool and enabled ADE Industries to grow exponentially with clientele like Collins Restaurants - KFC/Sizzler, Australian Catholic University, several access control businesses, several schools and universities along with a number of manufacturing businesses. My knowledge of general electric systems, control circuitry, PLC's and general process control enabled ADE to secure long term contracts and relationships that continue even after the sale of the business. Scope - 24/7 Domestic and Industrial Electrical, Domestic and Industrial Switchboards, Process control and Access control Availability - Started with 1 Service Vehicle and achieved as many as 14 reducing back to 4 at time of sale Staff - Starting with 1 in 1995 reaching 9 by October 1995 and maintaining an average of 19 including apprentices and administration staff reducing to 7 at time of sale including administration staff. The business was very successful and still operates today, and I still speak with a number of clients on a regular basis.. Show less
