  During my fourth clinical rotation with Concentra, I worked in an outpatient orthopedic physical therapy setting for 8 weeks. My patient population primarily included workers' compensation patients with acute musculoskeletal injuries. I completed scheduled evaluations and treatments on a daily basis while also allowing the time for new walk-over evaluations as needed, seeing up to 15 patients a day. I performed Human Performance Evaluations (HPEs) to ensure a worker's safety while beginning a physically demanding job and utilized my Spanish Minor to successfully communicate with my majority Hispanic population.

  During my third clinical rotation in the Bon Secours Richmond Health System, I worked in an acute care physical therapy setting for 8 weeks. Due to the smaller size of the hospital, I saw patients on every floor and from many different hospital subsets, from cardiac and post-operative orthopedic patients to neurological and ICU patients. I performed daily evaluations on a multitude of patient populations and coordinated specific treatment sessions that consisted of orthopedic protocols post knee or hip replacement, endurance training for cardiac and respiratory patients, or balance and environmental awareness exercises with post-stroke patients.

My patient population primarily included post-stroke and post-amputee patients. I completed evaluations and treatment sessions on a regular basis, seeing up to 20 patients a week. My treatment sessions were largely driven by patient specific impairments and goals but would generally include basic skin care information and gait training for amputees in addition to balance exercises, information on neurological signs and symptoms, and gait training for post-stroke patients.
