  Participated in a work exchange program through Workaway, where I worked at a small locally owned hostel in the pueblo of Puerto de Mogán on the island of Gran Canaria, Spain. Duties included checking in and out guests, collecting photocopies of passports (for security), leading tours of the hostel in both English and Spanish, giving information about the island and activities to guests, leading cultural nights, and general maintenance and cleaning of shared spaces. Worked with a small team of international volunteers to run the hostel, while promoting hospitality and facilitating open minded conversation among international travelers.
