Supported AAMU’s mission as an 1890 Land-Grant Institution by operating in the tri-fold functions of teaching, research, and public service. (1) Teaching undergraduate and graduate level courses (e.g., Biostatistics, Regression Analysis, Principles of Experimentation, Applied Multivariate Analysis, SAS Programming, Advances in Ecological Research, (2) supervised graduate and undergraduate students across the campus and of other institutes, (3) conducted research with leveraged funds (total funds > $15 million), (4) developed an active/leadership graduate wildlife programs at AAMU, (5) published extensively in peer-reviewed journals, (6) developed partnerships with federal, state, local agencies and organizations, and (7) conducted outreach and extension services. Initiated and executed a comprehensive study of stopover ecology of migratory songbirds along the Rio Grande of New Mexico, collaborated with the scientists of USDA Forest Service and USDI Fish and Wildlife Service for the restoration of riparian habitat and conservation effort of the Rio Grande, published technical reports of USDA Forest Service and publications of professional journals.
