Working with faculty in the health equity department on several research projects aimed at improving the quality and access of care, and better understanding barriers and facilitators to attaining good health for underserved populations. Projects include- second hand smoke exposure in long term hotel residents, screening for social determinants, the integration and use of sexual orientation and gender identity data in electronic health records, and understanding drivers and measures of racial segregation in hospitals. Perform literature research and streamline assessments responsible for survey design, along with collecting and analyzing data. Improve patient engagement within clinic by interacting with patients to gather information respectfully for the benefit of respondents. Collated and represented relevant data with a focus on engaging stakeholders to understand community needs. Participated in patient trial recruitment. Main accomplishments include creating a national survey to elicit the experiences and preferences of patients and clinicians who utilized telehealth during the pandemic, and the impact in-person safety measures and remote care delivery may have had on communication, as well as adjudication of transcripts to compare different machine learning software available on the open market and patient recruitment for recording clinical encounters and utilization of tagging software.
