Biology is one of the most difficult courses to teach in the online classroom yet Julie managed it with aplomb and her students loved her! She is supportive of her students and participates willingly in retention efforts. Additionally, she is teaching science for children which also has an online lab component. As Adjunct Professor for University of the Pacific Pharmacy School, taught pharmacy students through formal presentations and in an interactive group environment. Met with students daily to discuss assigned patients and provide feedback on the quality of their presentations regarding patients and previous day’s assigned topics. Prepared assignments, evaluated formal presentations, midterm progress, and final exams. Assigned final grades based on percentage distribution of formal presentations, daily assignments, and exam grades. Other grading considerations were behavior issues (professional integrity and attitude), plus verbal and written skills. As Clinical/Staff Pharmacist provided pharmacy instruction to medical and surgical residents through daily one-on-one interaction and during Medical Teaching Rounds. Delivered formal Nursing, Physician, and Pharmacy Department presentations on topics including AIDS, Antimicrobials, and Immunosuppressive Agents. Provided drug information to physicians and nurses both verbally and in writing. Reviewed medication profiles, processed orders, and made pharmacokinetic and IV calculations for diverse patients served by three pharmacy satellites. Supervised pharmacy technicians and worked closely with them to teach the importance of their role in the pharmacy and their impact on patients.
