  Voor CodeUur is een speciaal lesprogramma ontwikkelt voor groep 8 van de basisschool. Deze les wordt verzorgd door de engineers van startups en technologie bedrijven. De leerlingen krijgen inzicht wat het betekent om programmeur te zijn en dat dit een vaardigheid is waar ze later in veel beroepen profijt van gaan hebben. De les bestaat uit twee onderdelen. In het eerste deel vertelt de programmeur aan de hand van 10 foto’s waar hij of zij werkt, wie zijn collega’s zijn, wat coderen precies is en wat hij of zij er al allemaal mee heeft gemaakt. Na deze toelichting van een half uur start het echte programmeren. Met behulp van de online versie van Scratch gaan de kinderen echt zelf een game bouwen! De game heet “Red de prinses!” In het lesprogramma staat stap voor stap met schermafbeeldingen beschreven hoe ze dat moeten doen. De game bestaat uit een doolhof waar een prinses gered gaat worden door een poes. Voor de snelle leerlingen is er nog een extra mogelijkheid toegevoegd om enge monsters te bouwen.
