The Companies collectively provide a new and unique Loan Origination and automated Decisioning Point-of-Sale technology (software) platform to the lending marketplace. There is a system branded specifically for the Credit Union movement as well as systems designed to capture and increase loan volume for Non-CU lenders, including private investor and hedge fund managers. CU Lending Edge currently operates in 4 distinct markets in the US - Michigan, Georgia, Texas and California and continues to expand its service reach by partnering with key lender and retail (dealer) partnerships across the US.

CU Sol (CUSol.org) is a CUSO currently owned by two innovative and geographically disparate Credit Unions that get it! They have collaborated in order to begin developing and delivering products and services to the Credit Union, Bank and Finance Company marketplace in collaborative model. While credit union focused CU Sol realizes the potential for collaboration across industries (i.e. CU Sol is happy to work with the right Banks and Finance companies), as well as within the CU marketplace. A CUSO of this design has been needed for a long time and is now here. Anyone interested in CUSO's, or seeking CUSO opportunities and involvement should reach out. With the current product mix of CECL Reporting and program development, to Point-of-Sale lending platforms that will help lenders create and maintain multi-channel lending programs and loan growth, to Predictive Data Analytics and some interesting other product lines, CU Sol is innovating and delivering value in the marketplace.

As CEO of this $100MM+ Credit Union, we started and managed a Credit Union owned auto dealership and Indirect Lending CUSO from scratch. Collaborated and partnered with several credit unions in the greater Los Angeles area and planned and opened a new branch as well as completing a merger, as well as many internal projects that resulted in strong earnings and that secured the future financial health of the CU. While it was truly one of the jobs I enjoyed the most, the opportunity and lure to develop the CU Lending Edge and Lendsys systems was too great.

    • President/CEO
      • Jul 2002 - Jul 2003

As CEO of the CUSO I was charged with the day-to-day operations as well as planning for strategic growth. While my tenure here was short, the accomplishments were many, and varied. Operating the CUSO primarily as a financial planning CUSO, we went from 1 financial services representative to 6, while vetting and presenting several fully developed new CUSO product/service business plans to the CUSO Board. After my departure at least two of the CUSO business plans were implemented. As CEO of the CUSO I was charged with the day-to-day operations as well as planning for strategic growth. • 1998 - 2002

Liberty Enterprises purchased Advanced Solutions from me, a company started in 1989 to provide Outsource marketing, Creative and Consulting services to Credit Unions. As President of Liberty Advanced Solutions, we completed the purchase of a League Services Corporation Ad Agency and expanded the Outsource Marketing as well as Consulting Services nationally, completing over 20 strategic planning sessions annually. Working with Dean Johnson from Liberty, we started and managed a separate Market Research Division serving CUs across the country with custom Member Surveys and Focus groups to gather marketing intelligence and data.

Advanced Solutions was born from an idea while serving as VP of the California League Services Corporation and was the first true Outsource marketing company developed specifically for credit unions. Advanced Solutions provided mid-size credit unions the consistent availability and expertise of quality marketing professionals, and more important, hands-on, on-site implementation of marketing concepts and ideas with true accountability for results. The company grew from it's first client in 1989 to serving over 20 credit unions with 4 full time marketing representatives, 3 full time creative staff, managing well over $2.5MM of Credit Union marketing resources annually.

    • VP Corporate Development
      • May 1985 - Sep 1989

As VP of Corporate Development I was responsible for the ongoing oversight of all of the League Services Corp product and services offerings, as well as and primarily, for developing new products and services based on the needs of the Credit Unions. Managed six major departments, including sales, and over 20 product lines, while completing and implementing new product development on an ongoing basis. I left the Service Corporation after the previous CEO of the League left, and the New CEO indicated in our League strategic planning that it was not our job to hold the hands of credit unions after learning that the Service Corp had very successfully developed a product that was sold to over 250 CU's in the course of one year, but that less than half had implemented. It just didn't sit right with me that we would sell something and have large of a group of CUs that could not implement, and that we should not provide resources and guidance. I left and started Advanced Solutions, the Outsource Marketing company.

From working part time as a cook at a Michigan franchise restaurant chain, to being offered a corporate position in the training and personnel development department to eventually becoming the director of Training for that company. My early years provided a number of interesting work opportunities and experiences. My father, his father and several uncles were all small business owners and entrepreneurs, so growing up, I worked in several family business, ours as well as for relations. I entered the sales world in 1981, at the beginning of the Financial Services tumult. Interest rates were at 10-15% for investments and savings and mortgage loans were right there also. Financial industry Sales suited me and with securities and insurance licenses in hand, and with naivete of a 20 something year old, I opened my own insurance and investment office in a small town in Michigan, which eventually lead to becoming a consultant to CUNA Mutual on a program then called Plan America. The rest is Credit Union and Financial services history. I was hooked and have been involved with and tied to the movement ever since.
