  Lab tests were performed in order to produce reliable data to support scientific data. CDC protocol is followed for sample collection and prepared for lab tests .Maintained inventory of equipment’s. Take the history and collect the samples of the suspects of Acute Hepatitis, and conduct the ELISA tests for Hepatitis A to E, as per CDC protocols. The samples, from suspected patients coming to the medical OPD of Civil Hospital Karachi (CHK),FIRST tested for Liver Function Tests (LFT) to ascertain the cases as Acute, and then the ELISA tests for Hepatitis A, B, C, D & E are performed as per CDC schema protocol, ONLY on that subset of samples which happen to have a deranged LFT. Samples positive for Hep-B Surface Antigen are further tested for Hepatitis B Core IgM Antibody and Hepatitis D. The centrifugally separated serum is stored at -20oC.ELIZA tests are performed and the results are compared with the internal controls for internal quality assurance. Patient reports are formed and reports delivered on completion. The log sheets and inventory registers for items are timely prepared. Every procedure adopted is in exact accordance to the SOP.The biological waste, sharps, etc. are disposed of with the waste in CHK. When performing Elisa test All the data regarding surveillance of cases, risk factors, correlations entered in to the Access software and for further analysis sent to main office for any possible publication.After completing the Test monthly report is compiled. I have also maintained the cleaning and QC of Equipment used in the lab. The operating temperature of refrigerator daily checked. An inventory listing of consumable and non-consumable items are separately maintained and ensure the lab is well stocked. Surveillance forms, Temperature log sheet of refrigerator and procedure work sheet are filed up and also conduct the interviews of suspected patients of influenza viruses, take samples and sent to the National institute of Health Islamabad, Pakistan.
