7.6.15I am truly excited to hold this position in our fraternity. This role has been somewhat disregarded in recent years, and I hope to (along with Co-Chair Charles J Bill) completely restructure the position. I want to create an an active relationship between the chapter's undergraduate students and alumni. While still relatively early on in the process, we have taken steps to create infrastructure for alumni outreach. Some of our first actions have included: creating a complete database of all living alumni, setting up an alumni affairs email account, creating a handbook with recommendations for dealing with Nationals and with Duke Administration, and orchestrating pledge class reunions. For the long term, we hope to better plan and execute an alumni weekend, involve alumni with Duke events, fraternity issues, and philanthropic endeavors.

This internship has a wide aim- exposure to nearly every aspect of the organization. However I work most with the Marketing department, the Programs department, and the Business Development department. The relatively small size of the staff allows me to take a much more hands-on approach to this job. I have orchestrated social media posts, researched potential partnerships and grant opportunities, compiled bios on athletes and potential donors, crafted press releases, facilitated fundraisers with our sponsor organizations, and much more. This has been an incredibly fulfilling position for me not only because of the values and characteristics of the organization, but because it has given me the opportunity to create deliverables and see the fruits of their use. CAF is an unbelievable organization first and foremost because of the staff. Every person here is a microcosm of the whole organization: caring, genuine, honest, supportive, competitive, outgoing, innovative, and optimistic.
