-
Architect
-
Jun 2020 - Dec 2022
In AB Studio I was managing architectural projects from client acquisition to receiving the building permit. The most fascinating aspect of my job was architectural research, which included on-site examination of heritage buildings and drafting conclusions about its historic and architectural value. The top projects include Alsunga Castle, World Trade Centre Riga - a modernist architecture pearl, and Tirgus 5 Ventspils - an oldest wooden two-storey warehouse in Latvia. In Knokk Knock I was mainly responsible for drafting detailed plans, which included research of the area in focus, development of planning concept, graphic representation, and building regulations. I liked the planning focus of my job, as it had an interdisciplinary nature and was intellectually challenging. Sep 2019 - Dec 2019
After my teaching experience in HafenCity, Riga Technical University approached me with a proposal to give an original course in urban studies. The course, which was designed by me from scratch, covered a variety of topics from energy transition and sustainable mobility to climate resilient pubic spaces and urban agriculture. I, also, developed a series of small creative tasks for student teams, which contributed into a larger research project, thus training students in designing and carrying out research activities. I have been working for three consecutive summers at the Baltic International Summer School as the lead of a creative workshop. Together with a colleague, in pairs, we supervised and guided student teams, which developed architectural, spatial planning and urban design projects. Each summer I coupled with a different colleague from another country / field, and we developed an original interdisciplinary workshop concept.
