Robert knows how to help you when you have issues trouble-shooting and fixing your computer. He is extremely savvy with computer systems. Rob is fun, reliable, personable, and quick to identify the problem with your computer. He is a huge asset to your business or personal life when it comes to keeping your computer operating at its greatest potential. I'm thrilled to have met Rob through Okanagan NRG, and highly recommend his computer services. He is here to help you with your computer hardware, software, email, and network systems. Call him. You'll be glad you did. Pamela

The BC Chamber's grassroots policy-development process is second-to-none in British Columbia. Every year, our membership of businesses, Chambers of Commerce and Boards of Trade develops policies that reflect the on-the-ground needs of B.C. businesses. Through this process, our membership endorses approximately 40 new policies every year at our Annual General Meeting. 2017 marked a banner year for the BC Chamber with 64 policies submitted and supported by 47 individual chambers, including the Columbia Valley Chamber of Commerce and Tumbler Ridge Chamber of Commerce who submit policies for the first time. This is an increase of 31% in chamber participation and an increase of over 12% in overall policy resolutions submitted, which truly exemplifies the growth of engagement in BC’s largest and most broadly-based business network. The breadth and diversity of our policies reflects our broad-based membership; during any given year, we have policy recommendations for the majority, if not all, of B.C.’s provincial government ministries. Consistent with the Local Government Act and the DWK, theAdvisory Planning Commission receives its authorities, responsibilities, and instructions from the Council of the DWKupon adoption of resolution(s) and bylaw(s). These may be amended or repealed at the discretion of Council. The DWK Council charges the APC with the following duties:▪ Provide information and advice to Council and staff on issues concerning the public and the District related to land use and community planning;▪ Provide recommendations for consideration by Council and staff on specific planning matters; and,▪ Act in an advisory capacity to Council on matters concerning land use and community planning.FunctionsIn their preparation and deliberation of planning matters, the APC as a whole and its members as individuals have an important responsibility to the community. The matters under their consideration have a direct influence on the liveability of the community; making the quality of their understanding, analysis, insight, and recommendations on these items important. The influence of a planning commission within governmental and community affairs rests upon the quality of its recommendations. The quality of advice improves when there has been a systematic accounting of circumstances, patient reflection upon the goals of the community andestablished public policy, discipline in the processes ofdeliberation, and selection of a course of action that can beeffectively and efficiently implemented Show less

"Dad, who are you going to vote for?" My 16-year-old son had discovered politics. Dawn and I home-schooled so I was always on the lookout for a teachable moment. We set Russell off on a research project to pick a party. He went through the platforms, policies and news reports.I was always a Conservative (BC Liberal). I thought the right wing is where business owners belong. So I fully expected my son to come to the right conclusion. To my amazement, he picked the Green Party. I questioned him on the economics, on the future goals, long term plans, for hours. He was right. It took a 16-year-old with the unbiased view of the world to show me that I was a Green. I fully believe that if people can take the same unbiased look at the Greens that my son did they will come to the same conclusion. Show less

I am optimistic. I have met many Canadians in this riding and their vision of the future is truly inspiring. They are looking beyond their own concerns and looking into the future. They are helping their children by voting for government that will make post secondary education free. They are ensuring their children have local high paying clean tech jobs by voting for a party that is planning for infrastructure improvements that will work in the new post oil reality. They are voting for a party that plans beyond the next election but instead plans into the next centuries. These forward thinking Canadians are thinking of their Grandchildren and their Grandparents too – They are voting to ensure that the grandkids have a land that has clean water, clean air and clean food. They are voting to ensure that the Veterans and Pensioners are treated with respect and have a government that has an attitude of respect and reverence that is demonstrated in the policies they enact. They support a party that has a plan to reconcile the long indignant suffering of the First Nations. They are voting for a party the respects the land and the people Show less
