Van is great to work with - he knows his division well, works cooperatively with faculty and other personnel, and genuinely cares about the success of Crafton Hills College, its faculty, and its students.

Iris Kern-Foster

Van is a visionary leader, a big picture thinker, and a caring supervisor. He provides guidance and mentorship, and has excellent team management and mediation skills. As dean, Van is incredibly supportive of faculty, advocates for students' best interest, and truly understands the various learning environments in which the different disciplines he oversees operate. Van has guided me in the process of developing a new discipline for the college and and continues to support and mentor me. Van has created a collegial, collaborative environment in the division, has always an open ear for concerns and helpful suggestions.
